Staff at an antique store in East Durham, New York, were greeted by an unexpected guest this February when a live owl was discovered perched next to a vintage cookie jar.

The bird was found peacefully sleeping, seemingly indifferent to the surrounding shoppers. Local wildlife experts were called to successfully relocate the feathered visitor. If you’re a fan of these majestic birds (without the surprise shop visits), check out this beautiful owl-themed home decor.
HOWE WEIRD REACTION
Howe Weird here… honestly, that owl has great taste. If I were a bird, I’d definitely choose an antique shop for a nap—quiet, climate-controlled, and surrounded by cool stuff. I’m just glad they didn’t try to put a price tag on him. ‘Vintage feathered surveillance unit, $45.’ It’s a hoot, folks. Literally. Even Howe Weird couldn’t make this up.
