Nova Scotia Man Solves 211 Puzzle Cubes While Bouncing on a Pogo Stick

Good mornin’, neighbors, Howe Weird here, and Pip has already climbed onto my notepad like he is preparing for athletic greatness. I told him today’s story involves a pogo stick and 211 puzzle cubes, and he gave me the look of a spider who knows good and well he has eight legs but still no business bouncing.

Up in Annapolis Royal, Nova Scotia, a young man named Saul Hafting has landed in the latest Guinness World Records book for a feat that sounds like somebody lost a bet at a toy store. According to UPI, Hafting solved 211 rotating puzzle cubes while bouncing on a pogo stick, which is the sort of coordination that makes walking across the kitchen with a full cup of coffee seem downright humble.

Hafting is 21 now, but he was just 16 when he took on the record back in 2021. The category was most rotating puzzle cubes solved while on a pogo stick. His total of 211 cubes was approved in 2022, beating the previous record of 65. That earned him a certificate and a spot on the Guinness World Records website, but at first, not a place in the annual book.

Now, around my porch, solving one puzzle cube can cause enough muttering to make the dog leave the room. Doing it while bouncing up and down for long enough to stack up 211 of them? That takes patience, balance, practice, and probably knees with a better attitude than mine.

Hafting told the Annapolis Valley Register he was not sure how long his record would stand, but knowing he held it for years was satisfying. Earlier this year, he got word from officials that he would be featured in Guinness World Records 2027, which is now available in stores. He said he was excited to get a copy, flip through it, and see his name inside.

He also called the record unique and quite the spectacle to demonstrate. I believe that without hesitation. A pogo stick alone can turn a driveway into a rodeo, but add puzzle solving to the mix and you have entered a whole new county of unusual talent.

So tip your hat to Saul Hafting, a fellow who found a way to make brainpower bounce. Pip says he may attempt the spider version later, which appears to involve sitting very still on one cube and looking important.
