According to UPI, police were called to a Denver-area neighborhood after a tank rolled through the streets of Arvada, Colorado, as part of filming for an HBO reality show. A local landscaper posted video of resident Mark Dias riding atop the tank while shouting into a megaphone. That is one way to get the cul-de-sac’s attention.
The stunt was reportedly tied to the A24-produced HBO reality series Neighbors, which is profiling disputes involving Dias, a neighbor, and the local homeowners association. Dias said producers arranged the tank and that everybody in the cul-de-sac knew it was coming. Some neighbors, however, said they did not know what was about to roll into their day.
Police were called after one neighbor came outside with a gun. Thankfully, no injuries were reported and no arrests were made. Authorities were still checking whether the production had proper releases and permits. Pip says if your reality show requires both a tank and paperwork, the paperwork should probably go first.
The comedy here is not that anyone was scared. It is the sheer escalation. Most neighbor disputes involve fences, noise, parking, or lawn clippings. This one apparently reached “tracked vehicle with megaphone” status.
