Well, howdy, folks, Howe Weird here, comin’ at ya from our little corner of East Tennessee! Got a tale for you today that’ll make you scratch your head and maybe chuckle a bit, straight outta Florida, where the wildlife sometimes just… walks into the story.
Now, imagine this: a grown man, out there minding his own business, or maybe not so much, on a mini-golf course. Our guy, he spots something in the pond. Not a lost golf ball, mind you, but what he reckoned was a mighty big iguana. And bless his heart, he decided right then and there that this ‘iguana’ would make a fine new pet. Now, I don’t know about you, but if I’m looking for a pet, I usually head to a reputable pet store, or maybe even consider one of those fun little oddities you can find online. I saw some rather interesting pet accessories, even for unusual pets, over on Temu the other day. Just sayin’.
Turns out, this wasn’t an iguana at all. No sir, it was a proper, live alligator. And as you might expect, a live alligator isn’t too keen on being snatched from its pond, especially by someone who thinks it’s a lizard. He got a nasty bite to the hand for his trouble, and the police were called in to sort out the whole kerfuffle. Can’t say I blame the gator; a creature’s gotta defend its home, even if that home is a mini-golf course pond. It just goes to show you, sometimes the biggest surprise isn’t the score on the 18th hole, but what’s lurking in the water hazard.
