Roof-Top Coyote Mystery Solved: It’s a Real ‘Cut-Out’ Caper!

Well, howdy folks! Howe Weird here, comin’ at ya from my porch swing in East Tennessee, ready to spin you another tale from the peculiar side of life. This one takes us out to Portland, Oregon, where a fellow had quite the early morning surprise.

Picture this: It’s Tuesday, the sun’s barely peekin’ over the horizon, and a man is starin’ up at his two-story house. Now, he wasn’t admiring the shingles or anything. No, sir. He was convinced there was a coyote, a real, live wild animal, stuck up on his roof! You can imagine the commotion. Concerned for the critter, and maybe a little for himself, he did what many would do: he dialed 911.

Emergency services, bless their hearts, rolled up ready for a wildlife rescue. They found the homeowner looking mighty distressed, pointing up at the roof. But here’s where the story takes a turn, like a country road after a hard rain. After a thorough search, the officers made a discovery. That “coyote” wasn’t breathin’, barkin’, or even twitchin’. It was, in fact, a cardboard cutout of Wile E. Coyote! Someone had played a prank, and the wind had apparently knocked it over, making it look like a struggling animal.

Now, I reckon we’ve all had moments where our eyes play tricks on us, especially before that first cup of coffee. The police, they didn’t charge the man, just offered a friendly word about proper 911 use. Can’t blame them, but you gotta feel a little for the fellow, mistaking a cartoon for a real critter. If you’re thinkin’ about what critters might be lurking around your property, or just wanna keep an eye on things, you can find some pretty handy outdoor cameras and gadgets on Temu. Might save you a 911 call! And as for that cardboard prank, well, I hope he got a good laugh out of it eventually.
