Well, howdy folks, it’s Howe Weird, and I’ve got a story that’ll make you grin… or maybe just wonder what in the world is going on! Down in Bristol, Virginia, last Tuesday, Mr. George Henderson had an afternoon that was anything but ordinary when a neighborhood squirrel decided it needed a little more than just acorns.
Mr. Henderson, just enjoying a quiet moment on his porch, had taken out his dentures for a spell, you know, to properly savor a soft cookie. He’d set them right down on a little table next to him. Now, before he could blink twice, a rather brazen squirrel, one he recognized from frequent visits to his yard, zipped onto the porch, snatched those false teeth right up, and took off like a shot!
Imagine the sight: a bushy-tailed bandit scrambling up an old oak tree, struggling with a pair of plastic chompers! Neighbors who saw the whole spectacle could only shake their heads in disbelief, confirming the wild tale. Eventually, the squirrel, likely realizing these weren’t quite as tasty as a nut, dropped the dentures right onto a neighbor’s roof. Bless his heart, Mr. Henderson is still trying to get his teeth back, though he’s also looking into a new set, finding the whole thing both frustrating and, well, quite amusing in its sheer peculiarity.
This just goes to show you never know what a day will bring, especially when local critters are involved. Maybe a little porch organizer would come in handy for keeping track of those everyday items that might tempt a curious critter. Animal control confirmed squirrels are indeed opportunistic. Keep those valuables close, folks!
