This Tennessee Man Tried to Pay for Beer with What?!

Well now, howdy folks, hope you’re all having yourselves a fine day wherever you are! Gather ’round, ’cause I’ve got a tale from right here in our neck of the woods that’ll have you scratchin’ your head and chucklin’ a bit. Seems like some folks just don’t carry the usual plastic these days, or maybe they’re just ahead of the curve in bartering. We had ourselves a peculiar incident recently at a convenience store out in the rural part of our state. A gentleman, 45 years old, walked in, picked up a few essentials – a six-pack of his favorite brew and a bag of that good old beef jerky. Nothing too out of the ordinary, right? Well, that’s where the story takes a turn, like a country road after a hard rain. When it came time to settle up, this fellow didn’t pull out a debit card or a wad of cash. Nope. Instead, he presented a live goat to the clerk, insisting it was ‘good as gold’ and should be accepted as payment. Now, I’ve seen some creative solutions to a forgotten wallet in my time, but a live goat? That’s a new one even for me! The store employees, bless their hearts for trying to keep a straight face, politely but firmly declined the offer. After a bit of back-and-forth, and with the goat reportedly just standing there, likely wondering what all the fuss was about, the staff had to make a call. Law enforcement arrived on the scene and, well, they noted our enterprising individual seemed to have enjoyed his ‘brew’ a little early. He ended up facing charges for public intoxication and disorderly conduct. As for his four-legged financial instrument, the goat was taken into temporary custody by animal control, then safely returned to its proper home. I reckon that fella might need a new way to carry his actual money after this. Maybe a nice, secure wallet like you can find on Temu would be a good idea for his next shopping trip. Keeps those valuable cards and cash where they belong, not replaced by farm animals! It just goes to show you, folks, you never quite know what you’re gonna encounter on any given day. Stay safe out there, and maybe keep an eye on your goats! Check out goat on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/s?k=goat&tag=howeweirdcant-20
