Howdy there, good people! Hope this findin’ y’all in good spirits and maybe a little sunshine today. Ol’ Howe’s got a story out of Florida that just goes to show you, sometimes a good idea on the internet might not be such a good idea in real life.
Down in Naples, Florida, a 28-year-old fella decided he wanted to get in on one of them viral social media challenges. You know the kind – where folks try to do somethin’ a little wild for the camera. His particular fancy was pourin’ a bucket of water over his own head while in motion. Now, most folks might try this standin’ still, or maybe just walkin’. But not our man. He decided to do it while ridin’ an electric scooter.
Can you just picture it? Zippin’ along, bucket in hand, ready for his moment of internet fame. Well, as you might predict, tryin’ to douse yourself with water while steerin’ a scooter ain’t exactly a recipe for smooth ridin’. He lost control quicker than a greased pig at a county fair, veered right off the sidewalk, and went head-on into a lamppost. Wham!
Now, thankfully, he only ended up with some minor scrapes and bruises, nothin’ a little salve couldn’t fix. The paramedics came out and patched him up on the spot. But the local law enforcement, they weren’t quite as understanding about his pursuit of internet stardom. They handed him a citation for reckless operation of a motorized vehicle. And that electric scooter? Well, it didn’t fare so well. It was pretty much totaled, bless its little electronic heart. I reckon he learned a hard lesson that day about physics and personal responsibility.
