When the Wing Runs Dry: A 911 Call for Snack Catastrophe

Good morning, good people, and welcome back to Howe Weird! Hope you’re all having a splendid day out there, maybe enjoying a nice cup of coffee or a tasty bite to eat. Speaking of tasty bites, you know how it is when you just get a hankering for something specific? Well, for one gentleman down in Florida, that craving for chicken wings got a little… serious.

Turns out, this fellow decided that a local gas station being fresh out of his preferred poultry was an emergency of the highest order. So much so, he picked up the phone and dialed 911. Not just once, mind you, but *twice*! Now, I reckon we’ve all been disappointed when our favorite snack isn’t available, but I daresay most of us don’t consider it a matter for the authorities.

When the police arrived, they did what they do best: explained the situation. While I’m sure they appreciated his enthusiasm for wings, running out of a food item simply doesn’t qualify as a legitimate emergency. The 31-year-old man was given a warning, a gentle reminder, I imagine, that 911 is reserved for life-threatening situations, not a temporary shortage of savory snacks. It just goes to show, sometimes a craving can make folks do the strangest things. Maybe if he’d had a good air fryer from Temu at home, he could’ve whipped up his own batch and avoided the whole ordeal!

Authorities, as you can imagine, are still encouraging everyone to use 911 responsibly for actual emergencies. It’s a good lesson for us all, I suppose, about keeping our priorities straight, especially when hunger strikes.
